I'd like to say we have accomplished the trifecta of public sector employee support! Early in the campaign, Local 73, IAFF (City of St Louis Firefighters) came on board to support our efforts and were joined a few months later by CWA 6355, the Missouri State Worker's Union. Today I am proud to announce that the St Louis Police Officers Association, has joined our team! These three organizations represent working class men and women who are in the trenches protecting our lives, homes and keeping our government moving forward. They have put their faith in our efforts to bring progressive leadership to Jefferson City and stop the eroding of worker rights, health care, wages and safety.

Today, the Communication Workers of America - Missouri
State Workers Union endorsed Mike Colona’s campaign for State
Representative of the 67th District, saying he has a “clear commitment
to working people in Missouri.”
“Mike will do a fantastic job as State Representative,” Bradley Harmon, area representative for CWA Local 6355, said. “In Jefferson City, Mike will work to raise our standards of living, improve our healthcare system and change our working conditions for the better. We are proud to endorse Mike Colona for State Representative.” For the past 20 years the CWA Missouri State Workers Union has been Missouri’s statewide local of the Communications Workers of America. They organize state workers in the Division of Social Services, the Department of Health and Human Services, as well as local school districts. They work for a living wage, affordable healthcare, reasonable caseloads for state employees, accreditation for state agencies and collective bargaining for workers. They represent more than 6,000 workers throughout the state of Missouri.

Last night, the 25th Ward Organization voted to endorse our campaign! This brings the total number of district ward organizations who have joined our effort to 4. I am honored to have their support and I wish to extend my sincerest thanks to the entire ward organization, especially to Alderwoman Kirner, Committeeman Norm Sutterer, Committeewoman Maggie Lampe and Chairman Travis Reems. With such a crowded field of candidates, our campaign has shown we can gain the support of people from all over the district. With your continued support along with the help of the 25th, I look forward to our victory in August!

I wish to extend a "thank yo"u to all of my supporters for keeping
me ahead in this race. Fund raising numbers were due to the Ethics Commission
yesterday and I still have more than twice the money than all my opponents
combined! In addition, the endorsements just keep rolling in. Last night,
the 15th Ward Democrats Open Organization gave me their endorsement!
With a little less than four months to go, we are now shifting gears to met voters and go door to door. Once again, I need your help. Every weekend between now and August we will be walking and knocking, meeting people and families in the district. I need volunteers who walk with me and spread the news about the campaign. If you can walk ANY WEEKEND or NIGHT between now and August 5, please e-mail me so I can put you on our "Walk With Mike" list. I can also use a volunteer to o data entry.
Once again, THANK YOU for your continued support which will lead to VICTORY in August!

Filing for my office has now closed. There are 5 total in the race. I am first
on the ballot, first with cash on hand and first in the number of endorsements.
With the help of my friends, family and supporters like you, we will finish
first at the finish line!
Explore the website and find out how you can contribute to our efforts! Fundraising, canvassing, phonebanking, work the polls and pass out literature will all be key to our August victory. Your support, by checkbook or by foot power will win this race.
If you haven't already given on line to my campaign, take a moment and join the team! Your donation - no matter how big or how small - will help keep us ahead of our opponents as March 31 approaches and get our progressive message out to the people of the 67th District for the length of the campaign. If you can help by canvassing, posting a yard sign, data entering or simply walking with me to meet voters, please click here to sign up.
I'm so grateful for your support. Together, we will achieve victory at the polls and success in our government!

A quick thank you to my friends at IAFF Local 73. The fundraiser they threw
for me Thursday night was a great success! About 60 supporters attended throughout
the night and food was supplied by Hammerstones. My brother Tony (his real
name is Mike as well - go figure) cooked pasta and his wife Julie helped keep
the pasta bowls filled. I can't thank either of them enough. We enjoyed the
food, beverages and NCAA tourney deep into the night! I look forward to keeping
our city safe by fighting for a fully funded fire fighter's pension fund which
will keep experienced fire fighter's in the city and by finding money to help
fully staff the ranks of our firemen/women and EMT's. I am proud of to have
their endorsement. Thanks again Local 73!!

I look forward to making you proud in Jefferson City and on the campaign trail that leads there. As you know, I have received the endorsements of labor organizations, ward committees and elected officials. Such support will be crucial as we progress to victory in August.
It will not be an uncontested path, however. Two opponents filed against me today. The next six months leading to my election will now become a battle of vision, foot power, mailers and yard signs. We know that I am the best candidate in terms of experience, home ownership in our community, fiscal responsibility and hard work. We have the best vision, message and people working with me to win. We'll knock on thousand of doors and make countless phone calls. But unless I can get out my message with direct mail, yard signs and advertising our message could be lost. That's why I need your help filling the campaign war chest.

Thanks for visiting my website! This section is brand new and I will be updating it with pictures and notes from the campaign trail. My first task in this section it to bring the blog up to date, so within the next few weeks we will be posting pictures from our past events and updating you on the present events of the campaign. As your next State Representative from one of the most diverse districts in the State of Missouri, I want to hear from you about what is important. Please feel free to e-mail me with questions and I look forward to winning on August 8!
